Bill Claff's Sensor Primer introduces the concepts and provides some excellent presentations.

Roger Clark provides step-by-step directions for collecting test images and computing basic sensor parameters. Note that all of the work he describes doing manually with Images Plus can be done in a fraction of a second by my IS applications.
